Tuesdays with Dave | April 15th Edition Happy Tuesday, At Keller Williams, being a Cultural Ambassador isn’t just about wearing a badge or receiving a plaque—it’s about living out our core values day in and day out. A Cultural Ambassador is someone who doesn’t just talk about culture—they create it, protect it, and embody it in everything they do. These ambassadors are nominated by their peers and selected by regional leaders because they consistently walk the walk. Their impact is felt in Market Centers, in conversations, and in the countless small acts of service that collectively define who we are as a company. It’s a lifetime appointment, not a one-time recognition. Our Cultural Ambassadors are expected to: Create and implement a Culture Action Plan to strengthen community in their Market Centers or Regions Guide associates in need to KW Cares and other supportive resources Lead boldly in giving initiatives like RED Day, KW Kids Can, and more Build a legacy—using their own unique strengths to make a lasting difference These aren’t just guidelines—they’re the heartbeat of what it means to lead through culture. And this year, we saw two shining examples in our very own KW Virginias region. 2025 Cultural Summit: A Passing of the Torch At the KW Virginias 2025 Cultural Summit, we had the privilege of honoring the individuals who most reflect this deep cultural commitment. We celebrated the transition of this symbolic torch from 2024 Cultural Ambassadors Susan Shelton (KWCP) and Brett Korade (KW McLean), to two exceptional leaders: Scott Ford of KW United Kingstowne and Maghan Whaley of KW United Falls Church. And when we say exceptional—we mean it. Scott Ford: The Quiet Architect of Culture In a sea of incredible agents, Scott Ford has built his reputation not through grand gestures, but through steady, intentional leadership. He saw a need and filled it—personally developing and funding a website to better connect agents across Kingstowne. He didn’t just donate decorations for the holiday season; he showed up to help the team set them up, hands-on, side-by-side. Every month, he delivers tailored market reports that empower agents to better serve their clients. Every week, he’s there—offering insight, leading respectfully, and helping build a collaborative culture where everyone feels like they belong. And outside the Market Center? He’s bridging business and giving in real-time. His client appreciation events support the Alexandria Animal Welfare League and invite the community to be part of something bigger than a transaction. He serves on his HOA, runs another business, and somehow finds time to inspire everyone around him. He’s not just a Cultural Ambassador. He’s what that title was made for. Maghan Whaley: The Embodiment of Everyday Leadership At KW United Falls Church, culture has a face—and it’s Maghan Whaley’s. As Chair of the Culture Committee and a new ALC member, she’s not just showing up to lead—she’s building a rhythm of giving that’s contagious. Maghan takes small ideas and turns them into powerful movements. A Halloween costume drive became a Market Center tradition. RED Day became a deeply impactful, hands-on service day because she made sure it wasn’t just about showing up—it was about showing heart. Her leadership spills over into the world around her. For over a decade, she’s been a vocal advocate for the National Brain Tumor Society—leading fundraisers, organizing community events, and lobbying for legislative change. Locally, she’s the glue in her Lake Barcroft neighborhood—delivering groceries to aging residents, editing the newsletter, and helping raise thousands for charity through women-led giving circles. As her team so powerfully put it: “She leads. She mentors. She serves. She creates change.” That’s not just a mantra—it’s how she moves through the world. Why Culture Matters More Than Ever In a company filled with servant leaders, it’s easy to say “culture is who we are.” But agents like Scott and Maghan show us what that really means. It means making time when it’s inconvenient. It means lifting others quietly and consistently. It means building something that lasts—something that others can build on. As the torch is passed, we’re reminded that culture isn’t static—it’s passed forward through people who live it boldly. And thanks to Scott and Maghan, our KW family is in good hands for 2025 and beyond. ddd
